Hades is the God of the underworld, ruling over the realm of the dead, he is often depicted as a dark and brooding figure, associated with death, wealth, and power.

In Greek mythology, Persephone is a goddess, the daughter of Demeter, and the wife of Hades. She is associated with fertility, and is often depicted as a youthful and beautiful figure. The myth of Hades and Persephone tells the story of how Hades kidnaps Persephone and takes her to the underworld, where she becomes his queen. Her mother Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, is devastated by her daughter’s disappearance and causes the earth to wither and die.

Eventually, Zeus intervenes and arranges for Persephone to spend part of the year in the underworld with her husband, and part of the year on earth with her mother. This myth serves to explain the changing of the seasons, as Persephone’s time on earth brings the return of spring and summer, while her time in the underworld brings the barrenness of winter.
